Lahore- In an interview to BBC, Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq said he does not know if he encouraged the idea of Indian Premier League.

“I don’t know if I am responsible,” Misbah said. Misbah was given the captaincy after the spot fixing scandal which included Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt.

“I realized it was time to take responsibility,” he said. Misbah added, “You have to stand up and show the world that you are a good cricketing nation with your conduct.”

Misbah explained how his educational credential helped him to lead the team. He further lamented that he did not get a chance to head the team on home grounds.

“It really hurts when you can’t play international cricket in front of your own people,” he said. “Exposure can make you a better player,” he said while referring to Pakistan’s abstention in the IPL. “I have always tried my best to do well for my country,” Misbah concluded.
