US Aid is constructing about 120 schools in Sindh and in general, we appreciate their efforts to raise the much-needed standard of education in the province. The construction work on one of such schools has recently started in Sindhi Jamaat Cooperative Housing Society, main National Highway in Malir district. Instead of constructing US Aid School, limiting to the area of exiting Govt. Primary School, they have started construction work on adjacent plot reserved for a public park, which is an open violation of prevailing rules. Use of amenities plots for other purpose is illegal and there are more than one apex court decisions on the subject.
We the residents of the Society appeal to US Aid authorities to desist from misusing of amenity plot and stop all construction works till whole 15-member body is re-elected. If US Aid wants to build a school in the Society, they may limit the construction to the area of the exiting Govt school or they can purchase another plot in the Society. The authorities of US Aid, Cooperative Societies and Sindh Government’s environmental department must take notice of this open violation.
