LAHORE: Parts of the country including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities yesterday with experts predicting more rains during the next couple of days.

The rains, high velocity winds and cloudiness decreased temperature during the day and at night, making weather pleasant.

In Lahore, winds continued to blow all the day that followed by scattered showers in the evening. Cloud cover, winds and rains made the weather pleasant by causing considerable decrease in the mercury level.

Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 26 degree Celsius and 12C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 56 percent.

According to the experts, westerly wave is prevailing over central parts of country. This weather system is likely to grip upper parts of the country and persist till Sunday.–Staff Reporter

The Met Office has forecast rain-thundershower accompanied by gusty winds at scattered places in Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, DG Khan divisions), Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Bannu, Kohat, D I Khan divisions), FATA and Kashmir and at isolated places in Zhob and Malakand divisions during the next couple of days.

Hailstorm is likely at isolated places during the period.

On Saturday, Parachinar received 28mm rain, Khanpur 17mm, Bannu13mm, Dadu12mm, Quetta and Sukkur 10mm each, Rahim Yar Khan 09mm, Kalat and Shorkot 06mm each, Bahawalpur, Kakul and Jhang 05mm each, Kohat and Faisalabad 04mm each, Garhi Dupatta, DI Khan, Lahore, Larkana and Zhob 03mm each, Bahawalnagar, Barkhan, Cherat and Peshawar 02mm each, Jacobabad, Multan, Rawalakot, Sargodha, D G Khan, Muzaffarabad and Balakot 01mm each.
