LAHORE - PTI’s newly elected Senator, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar Monday said he had renounced his UK nationality way back in July 2013 before taking charge as Punjab Governor.

In a statement issued by party’s media office, Ch Sarwar said that he had also surrendered his British passport to the British authorities after they accepted his request regarding renunciation his UK nationality.

“I’ve only Pakistani passport now”, he said.

Also, PTI’s media cell has issued the letter of UK border agency regarding renunciation of his dual nationality.

According to details issued to media, Sarwar applied for withdrawal of British nationality on 2 July 2013 before UK border agency, while the agency confirmed his request on 18 July 2013.

Notification of UK border agency has also been released to the media.
