As many as 37 militants were killed while four security personnel embraced shahadat and six others sustained injuries during the last 24 hours in different parts of Swat, said an ISPR news release on Wednesday. "Militants in gross violation of peace accord continued firing at various check posts of security forces in Kanju, Saidu Sharif, Matta and other areas of Swat. Militants have planted IEDs in many areas of the district to inflict causalities on security forces and civilians," it said. On Wednesday at around 1200 hours, two soldiers embraced shahadat due to an Improvised Explosive Device blast in Bahrain, Swat. Armed militants have come down from their hideouts into the cities and have occupied civil houses and government buildings and have looted three Banks in Mingora city, besides occupying the offices of DIG Police and Commissioner at Mingora.
