LAHORE - A young couple that left troubled area of Buner to tie the knot has been murdered allegedly in the city late on Monday night. A police official told this scribe on condtition of anonymity that the couple reached Lahore on Saturday to solemnise marriage, was staying in a room (No. 115) of a three-star hotel in Lorry Adda police limits. The City police officers concerned are concealing the facts of the case, fearing that the killers of the couple might create trouble for them as well. The official said that an employee of the hotel gave information to ASI Iftikhar Ahmad about the presence of the couple later identified as Hashmat Perveen, 16, and Ibrahim, 22. ASI Ahmad reached the hotel and started interrogating the couple without bringing the matter to the knowledge of senior police officers. During investigation, the couple informed him that they had come from Buner and wanted to marry. The girl also informed the police official about her relatives living in Lahore. ASI played a game with the couple and instead of providing protection to them he contacted girls relatives in Lahore to have an under-hand deal. Her relatives reached the hotel in no time and had several meetings with the cop to reach a deal. Finally, the girls family agreed to pay Rs300,000 to the police for handing over the couple to them. After the deal was final, some unknown people arrived Lahore from Buner and took the couple with them after making payment of Rs300,000 to the ASI. On way back to Buner, unknown people killed the couple and threw their bodies in the fields alongside the motorway. When matter came to the knowledge of SP City Rana Abdul Jabbar, he immediately reached Lorray Adda police station where DSP and SHO were also present. During inquiry, the ASI confessed his crime and the SP recovered Rs300,000 from the ASI and sent him to jail. A police team later carried out raid in Lytton Road area and arrested the girls relatives who played role in striking deal between the police official and the girls parents. When contacted, SP City Operation Rana Abdul Jabbar, SHO Lorry Adda Mian Liaqat and Incharge Investigation Officer of the same police station Raja Muzamil declined to comment on the incident.
