KARACHI - Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) and its have signed Shaheed Benazir Charter of Demands; starting from June 12 till June 11 2,010. According to the agreement, the salaries and other allowances for the employees of PSM have been enhanced. Pakistan Steel Mills announced incentives-laden package for employees during the visit of Chief Minister of Sindh. Sources told The Nation that the number of pilgrims for Hajj has been increased from 35 to 50 employees, the previous system of 60 days leave with pay would remain in force. The number of pilgrims for Umra has also been increased from 5 to 10 employees and they will be paid Rs 16000 as allowance. The number of Christians who go to Sialkot for their religious ritual has been extended to 5 employees with especial allowance along with 15 days leave with pay. Moreover, 2 employees will be sent to Vatican City with airfare and $ 500 per head with 15 days leave. The number of Hindu pilgrims who visit India every year for rituals has been increased up to 4 employees with all the facilities and allowances. On Easter and Diwali a special holiday and festival award of Rs. 1000 will be awarded to the employees. Relatives of employees that have completed their 25 years of services in PSM will be provided with all the allowances but in case of second marriage of the widow, benefits will be taken back. PSM will continue to support the offspring of those employees. It has also been decided that if an employee dies during any incident, even if he/she has not completed his 25 years of service, all the benefits will be provided to his/her family. PSM will increase medical facilities for the employees, while on serious cases the CMO approval has been removed. In Gulshan-e-Hadeed extension Phase 1, 2 and 3, the alleged allotments of plots that has been done in past will be rectified and the employees will get plots in Gulshan-e-Hadeed extension phase 3 and Phase 4. All these allotments will be made under the supervision of the committee formed for this purpose. The employees working in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Gujranwala will get the convince allowance of Rs 1000 per month. Other allowances for the employees working in mines and other areas will also be provided. The employees of PG-1 will get new pay scale fixation and increment of Rs. 3620, while the PG-7 will get Rs 6770 onward. PSM will also launch Special Relief Allowance, Special Additional Allowance and Dearness Allowance. Employees working in different shifts will get allowance of 35 % of their existing pay scale. Employees of PG 7 and above will have Rs 4654, while PG 1 will get Rs 2224 as allowance. The employees with out any medical leave in the year will get Physical fitness Award of Rs. 1000. Monthly house rent for the employees has been increased up to 80% of existing pay scale. It is Rs 11000 for PG 7 and above, while PG 1 will get Rs. 8000 in this regard. Hazard Allowance is now from Rs 120 per day for A one, while C category will get Rs. 50 per day. Due to inflation, PSM will provide its employees with Inflation Allowance of Rs 500 for PG 1 to PG 3, Rs 450 for PG 4 to PG 5 and Rs 400 for PG 6 and above. Rs 200 as utility allowance, 5 % of existing pay as Cost of Living allowance, Welfare loan from Rs. 30000 to 60000 and loans for house building, motor cycle and cars will be allotted to the employees.
