RAWALPINDI - Addl IG and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani on Wednesday dismissed one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from the service on the charge of drinking at police check post. He also dismissed other five constables on the charge of corruption and involvement in nefarious activities. According to detail, a citizen Dr Hafeez appeared before RPO Nasir Durrani and complained that his car was stolen some days ago. He visited Tariqabad police post for registration of case but he found ASI Khalid Mehmood absent. Later he came to know that at that time ASI was present in the premises of Police Post Tariqabad in drunken condition due to which he did not want to meet them. On this Addl IG Nasir Khan Durrani directed SSP/RIB Khurram Shehzad to conduct a thorough enquiry into the allegations. After enquiry the allegations against the ASI found correct and Enquiry Officer recommended departmental action against him. In the light of Enquiry report RPO dismissed ASI Khalid Mehmood from his service with immediate effect. In the second case, RPO Nasir Khan Durrani has come to notice that Constables Manzoor Nasir, Abdul Majeed, Arif Ali, Javed Hussain and Anar Shah of Rawalpindi district were mix up with criminals, receive bribe from narcotics peddlers, brothels and provide them shelter for running their illegal business and they also enjoyed bad reputation in the area. Addl IG enquired the mater through a committee comprising Senior Officers.
