SARGODHA/KHUSHAB/SIALKOT-Eight persons including a minor girl were killed and five others injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and road mishaps over the past 24 hours.

According to details, in Sargodha a seven-year-old girl was shot dead in crossfire between two rival groups in village Mari here on Monday. The incident occurred when two groups opened indiscriminate firing on each other as a result the girl identified as Ashra, a class-III student was killed while on the way to school. The incident occurred in the remit of Jhal Chakkian Police. In another incident, one Amir Khan gunned down his cousin namely Khalid Khan on suspicion of illicit relation in village Shah Nickdar. Similarly, armed assailants murdered one Naeem Ullah in village 87/SB over a petty issue.

Meanwhile, in Khushab, at least five persons including two students were killed in two separate road accidents here Monday morning.

Rescue officials said that three people were killed in Soun valley of Khushab when a truck fell into a ravine while negotiating a sharp turn.

In another accident, two students were killed when they were hit by a speeding truck. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene. The police have impounded the truck and started search for the driver. In Sialkot, a 10-year-old boy namely Muhammad Umer died after falling down from the rooftop of his house while trying to catch a stray kite in village Saahowala, Sambrial tehsil here.

Reportedly, he was flying kite when he suddenly tried to catch a stray kite and fell down from the rooftop in the street. He breathed his last instantly.

Man commits suicide after stabbing wife: A man stabbed his wife and later committed suicide by hanging himself over domestic issue here on Monday.

Umer, a resident of Baghbanpura had got love marriage with Samina ten years ago and they had two daughters. However, nowadays the couple had developed some differences over some domestic issues. At which Umer stabbed to death his wife Samina and later committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan with a rope. The dead bodies were shifted to hospital for autopsy. The Baghbanpura Police have registered a case.
