KARACHI - Police have arrested a spiritual faith healer after the death of a youth who died during treatment at his ‘Aastana’ on Monday.
The faith healer was identified as ‘Baba Ejaz’ after the victim’s family, along with his body, staged protest against the incident and demanded the law enforcers to arrest the faith healer.
Upon which, police took action and arrested the faith healer from his Aastana situated in Garden area. The victim was identified as Abdul Ghani, 30, resident of Kala Pull area. The accused is the resident of Maripur and used to run his Aastana in Garden area.
There were reports that Ghani was burnt to death by a spiritual faith healer during treatment, however, police denied it. SP Sheraz Nazeer said the man died after inhaling too much smoke from a pot which faith healer used to treat his patients. He said the body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi while further investigation was underway. No case has been registered.
