LAHORE  - Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik of the Lahore High Court on Monday directed Anti-Corruption Establishment to complete a pending inquiry against Punjab University Vice Chancellor allegedly involved in issuing fake degrees to former parliamentarian Sumaira Malik and Abdul Qadir Gillani, son of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.

As proceedings started, the chancellor’s counsel said that the ACE initiated baseless inquiry against his client. He said his client had no role in alleged issuance of fake degrees. He asked court to set aside inquiry proceedings. On other side, Prof Mahmood through his counsel accused the VC of committing massive misappropriation and he wanted to produce evidences before the ACE. He sought direction for the ACE to include him in the inquiry.

During the course of hearing, the counsel representing ACE told the court that the inquiry would be conducted on the directions of the SC and would be completed soon. After hearing the arguments, the judge adjourned further proceedings till June 06 and directed ACE to complete inquiry against PU VC.

Annual exhibition

LAHORE  - A two-day annual exhibition of S BS projects students opened at Government College of Home Economics on Monday. MPA Farhana Afzaal graced the occasion as the chief guest. The exhibition was a display of creativity, skill and hard work.

Farhana Afzaal along with college principal Prof Dr Samia Kalsoom visited the exhibition and praised the students for their creative art and the teachers for their guidance.

The first batch of BS programme displayed their work. About 200 students participated from various departments including, Textiles and Clothing Department, Food and Nutrition, Art and Design, Human Development and Family studies and Housing Home Management department. The products included clay art , pottery,  paintings, murals , screen printing, block printing , furniture designs, renovated furniture and commercial, attractive ,effective and colorful teaching aids and research papers on dietetics .


LAHORE  - Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore’s inspection teams caught various impersonators during the inspection of all the examination centers constituted for the Intermediate Examination Part-II 2014.

In the both sessions an impersonator Ali RAza s/o Rehmat ali was caught red handed while attempting paper in place of original candidate namely Sohail Akram S/o Muhammad Akram bear Roll No 627789 at 49-A, Majeed Nizami Road, Lahore. Meanwhile a Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Wasim was suspended due unlawful activities. Four unfair means cases were registered against the candidates bearing Roll Numbers 552257, 552258, 569275 and 529371.
