NOORPUR THAL -The Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) announced a sit-in against the School Education Department here on May 10.

In a press release issued here, PTU Khushab District President Malik Aman Ullah Joya announced that the sit-in would be held near the District Council Chowk against the alleged anti-teachers and anti-education policies of the Schools Department. He said that the ongoing academic boycott by teachers across the province would continue.

According to him, teachers have been observing academic boycott across the province as a protest against the rationalisation, reallocation of teaching posts, non-regularisation of contract teachers, mess in results of 5th and 8th classes annual examination 2014 conducted by the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) and assigning non-academic duties to teachers.  He further said that the victimization of protesting teachers would not deter them from raising voice for rights of students and teachers.

STUDENTS GET SLIPS: Govt Women College Principal Perveen Arshad has issued the roll number slips of 16 second year students on a the court order and the students appeared in the examinations. The female students had filed a petition before the DSJ. They pleaded that they were the candidates of in the annual exam of the BISE Faisalabad but the college staff had refused to issue the slips to them.

After hearing, Judge Amer Habib directed the principal to issue the roll number slips. The principal said that she had complied with the court order.
