ATTOCK-The State Life Insurance Corporation has closed down its cash counter here instead of taking action against corrupt officials thereby creating problems for hundreds of policy holders.

Now, they have to go to Rawalpindi to deposit their premium. Some of the policy holders had lodged complaints before the authorities concerned against an area manager and others for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of money, and demanded departmental action against them.

They in their complaints informed the authorities that they handed over their money to the officials to deposit their policy premium but the amount was never deposited and embezzled.

They regretted that instead of taking action against the accused, the corporation had closed down the counter. They said that the closure was aimed to save the blue-eyed corrupt officials. SLIC Zonal Head Azhar Hussain when contacted defended the decision of closing down the counter, saying that he was not concerned about the policy holders' problems.
