Awareness about blood donation

LAHORE - The Blood Donor Society of The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore in collaboration with the Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center organised various activity like a motivational walk, seminar, drama based on real story and blood camp to create awareness about with the theme “Donate Blood-Save Life” at UVAS here on Tuesday.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha led the walk While Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Prof Dr Asim Aslam, Ms Farzana Chouhdary, Dr Hafsa Zainab, Dr Muhammad Oneeb and President of The Blood Donor Society Maher Hamza faculty members and a large number of students participated.
Later a seminar was organised to sensitise people about motivation for blood donation. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the seminar. Speaking on the occasion Vice-Chancellor said that blood is essential to human life. Thus blood donation is a humanitarian service all over the world so in this matter he advised students, must donate your blood to deserving patients to save their life. He also lauded the role of Blood Donor Society to organize such activities for the Nobel cause.
At the End, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha gave away certificates among all the members of Blood Donor Society, while Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and Ms Farzana Chouhdary gave away shield of the best donor award to Massab Hassan. A one day blood camp was also held in Quality Operation Laboratory (UVAS) by Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, in which conducted free CBC test service for the UVAS students.
