27 Pakistanis deported from Greece

ISLAMABAD - A group of 27 Pakistani deportees yesterday arrived at Benazir Bhutto International Airport and were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for further investigations after proper verification of their citizenship.

This is the second group of Pakistanis deported from Greece during this week as 38 Pakistani had arrived on BBIAP Islamabad on Wednesday.

A spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said that all these deportees had been handed over to the anti-human trafficking cell (AHTC) of FIA Islamabad for further investigations.

According to details, 27 Pakistanis were deported from Greece on account of their illegal entry into that country and were brought to Pakistan through flight number EK-612 via Turkey.

An official of FIA said that all these deportees went illegally to Greece through land routes and were in the custody of Greek authorities. FIA’s immigration staff verified Pakistani nationality of all the deportees and after proper verification; they were given admission into Pakistan, he added.
