‘Wall of Kindness’

KARACHI (PR): Leading decorative paints brand ICI Dulux, part of AkzoNobel Pakistan, has collaborated with renowned architect Habib Fida Ali to set up a ‘Wall of Kindness’ in Karachi. The idea behind the Wall, otherwise known as ‘Akhwan-e-Karachi’, is to provide clothing to the less fortunate living in the vicinity.

The concept behind the Wall is one of sharing and contributing to the local neighbourhood, with a specific focus around clothing the underprivileged. As part of the project, Habib Fida Ali Architects and local residents donated items of clothing by hanging them on the Wall. This easy access allows those in need of clothes to conveniently collect them, taking only what they need and leaving the rest for other families.

Habib Fida Ali kindly offered one of the rear walls of his residence, located beside Clifton Bridge. The design and repainting of the Wall was undertaken by AkzoNobel Pakistan, using the latest ICI Dulux Weathershield range of paints.

Commenting on the activity, AkzoNobel Pakistan Chief Executive Jehanzeb Khan said, “AkzoNobel Pakistan is committed to protecting and enhancing our communities and the lives of its inhabitants every day. By re-energising the human connections amongst us, our cities can become more inspiring and more liveable.”
