ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) yesterday rejected the request of Sindh government to change the District Returning Officers (DROs) and Returning Officers (ROs) for local government elections on reserved seats in the province.

The ECP while rejecting the Sindh government’s plea maintained that all the officers will continue discharging their duties till completion of the election for which the process of nomination papers will begin today.

ECP has already announced the election schedule for filling reserved seats in district councils, municipal and town committees, district municipal corporations and metropolitan corporations.

According to the schedule, the ECP will receive nominations papers for two days (May-6-7) while scrutiny will be held on May 10-11 while notification of returned candidates will be issued on May 24.
