Rawalpindi - A medical rep attempted to end his life by swallowing poisonous pills after being blackmailed at the hands of a drug inspector and two chemists over selling of car. However, medical rep Shakil Anjum was rushed to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) where doctors saved his life.

Sadiqabad police registered a case on complaint of the medical rap’s brother and started investigation.

According to details, a citizen Abdul Wahab, hails from Sadiqabad, appeared before police and lodged a complaint that his brother Shakil Anjum was working as medical rep in Taxila where the two chemists namely Muhammad Atta and Abdul Halim asked him to sale out his car to them.

However, he stated, Shakil refused to meet the demand of the chemists on which they along with a drug inspector Malik Arshad started blackmailing his brother. The applicant further mentioned that later the troika managed to swindle Rs100,000 and car from Shakil. He added that Shakil tried to commit suicide after being blackmailed at the hands of the troika. Abdul Wahab asked police to register a case against the three accused and arrest them. Taking action police lodged a case and launched investigation.

Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Najeeb Ullah, who is posted at Police Station Sadiqabad confirmed that Shakil Anjum tried to commit suicide by swallowing poisonous pills. He said that police booked three men and were probing the matter. He said that no arrest was made so far. He said that the victim medical rep was admitted to BBH where his condition was out of danger.
