LAHORE: The Punjab Nursing Examination Board has announced results of Post Basic Nursing Examination in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah yesterday.

Controller Nursing Examination Board Ms Zubaida, DG Nursing Punjab Nusrat Saeeda, Members of Executive Committee, Deputy Secretary Medical Education Dr Nasir Shakir and Deputy Secretary Health Ahmed Kamal Maan were also present in the meeting.

The board controller briefed the secretary regarding the Post Basic Nursing Examination, saying that after completion diploma in nursing, a total 449 students appeared in 14 specialties of nursing out of them 440 students passed the exam. The success percentage of students is 98 percent, she added.

She further informed that 14 nursing specialties in which the students appeared included operation theater nursing, anesthesia nursing, intensive care unit, cardiac care unit, pediatrics nursing, ophthalmic nursing, psychiatry nursing, neuro nursing, nephron urology, burn, rehabilitation, bone marrow transplant nursing, oncology nursing and accidents and emergency nursing.

According to the results, a student Rehana Kausar d/o Talib Hussain from Postgraduate College of Nursing Lahore stood first by getting 346 marks. Another student from Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute/Nursing College Rawalpindi Sonia Irshad d/o Irshad Ahmed Khan got second position and obtained 345 marks, whereas Kainat Hikmat d/o Muhammad Farooq from the same Nursing College got 341 marks and stood third in the exams of Nursing Examination Board.–Staff Reporter
