LAHORE - PIA has been given the Most Improved Performance Award by the Dubai Airport authorities recently for showing remarkable improvement in its on-time performance in 2015.

Meanwhile, during the last month, April, punctuality rate of PIA flights from Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIAP) Lahore to other destinations remained 99.1 percent.

“During the month, out of total 570 flights, only five were delayed and those were engineering delays,” said PIA’s senior officer.

He said that Bernd Hildenbrand, during his visit to (AIIAP) a few days back, addressed the airline employees and commended the efficiency and professionalism of Station Manager PIA Lahore Tariq Majeed, particularly for attaining 99.1 percent punctuality rate in April.

It is worth mentioning here that it is the highest ever on time departure figure.

The official further said, “We have put the right person in the right place, and in response finds such results.”

Spokesman of the airlines said that Dubai authorities awarded Qatar Airways Gold Award; Gulf Air, Silver Award and Jazeera Airways, Bronze Award.

These airlines were chosen from among 88 airlines operating from the Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport, with over 2000 flights, and having excelled in their on-time performance during 2015.

Khalil Lamrabet Director of Aviation Business Development and Performance Appraisal, Dubai Airport Authorities was the chief guest at the ceremony.

The award was received by PIA’s Station Manager at Dubai International Airport, Manzoor Hussain Junior.
