ISLAMABAD - A local court yesterday issued arrest warrants of former chairman Senate Nayyar Bukhari and his son Jarar Shah for allegedly thrashing a cop at the entry gate of F-8 district courts, Islamabad.
Judicial magistrate Jawwad Hussain issued the arrest warrants after hearing a petition filed by the Islamabad police.
The magistrate also ordered the police to arrest both the accused and present them before the court for slapping a policeman during checking in F-8.
According to the details, investigation officer of the case filed the petition in a local court for obtaining the arrest warrants of Nayyer Bukhari and his son.
The Margala Police on Wednesday had registered an FIR against the former custodian of the Upper House on the complaint of Muhammad Riaz, a head constable of Special Branch, Islamabad, who was deployed at the entry point with other cops.
According to the police constable, he was deployed on duty outside the court and engaged in body search of people entering the premises. Meanwhile, two people entered without body search. The policeman alleged that former Senate chairman used profane language and verbally abused him when he asked for his search, while his son Jarrar Bukhari slapped him.
The police initiated an investigation after registration of FIR.
