A religious group recently held a rally against the attacks on shrines in various parts of the country. This was no doubt a positive gesture towards ending extremism but also the fact cannot be ignored that the rally crossed different routes of the city, held a sit in at Shah Ghazis shrine and caused a traffic mess in the city. Besides, it is important to understand that terrorists are always on the lookout for attacking large public congregations. As a concerned citizen, I write this letter to urge people to refrain from organising such rallies as eventually this causes the people to become sitting ducks for the terrorists. There can be better ways of denouncing bomb attacks. Pakistanis have already suffered a lot and they should be spared the risk of venturing out on the roads and facing security risks.
