KARACHI (Agencies) - Government of Sindh has placed a ban on carrying of all kinds of weapons in the province for next 48-hours beginning from Friday midnight. According to a notification issued here, it said Government of Sindh has suspended all permission letters for carrying of weapons issued in relaxation of ban under Section 144 Cr.P.C. for 48 hours beginning from Friday midnight and there will be a complete ban on carrying of all kinds of weapons. Meanwhile, a security plan in connection with arrival of MQM leader Dr Imran Farooqs body was finalised during high-level meeting with Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the chair at National Crisis Management Cell on Friday. In wake of security situation, the body of Dr Imran would be shifted to Jinnah ground through helicopter while deployment of 3, 000 Rangers personnel and policemen from airport to Jinnah ground has been approved. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that no untoward incident would happen on arrival of Dr Farooqs body. Provincial Interior Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, CCPO Karachi, DIGs and others attended the meeting. Talking to journalists after the meeting, Malik said that additional security measures have been taken on arrival of Dr Farooqs body.
