RAWALPINDI (PPI) - Iranian Commercial Attache H Bigdeli has said that Pakistan-Iran gas project is in the final stages on the Iranian side. H Bigdeli said his country is fully aware of the problems faced by the Pakistans industry and, keeping in view the requirements of the Pakistani industry, Iran has geared up its work on the gas pipeline project. He said that Iran was eager to enhance the trade relations with Pakistan to promote the regional trade. He further said that due to increase in POL & electricity prices, the Pakistan-Iran gas project had become a key project. He further said that Iran is working on the project promptly and project is in the final stages on the Iranian side. Now the ball is in the Pakistans court to how long it would take time to complete the project in the country, Iranian Commercial Attache added. He was exchanging these views with the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Syed Ali Raza Saeed Shah, during his visit to the RCCI here on Friday. Mian M Ateeq, Dr. Shimail, Asad Mashadi, Tariq Mughal, Mamoon Anwar and Fiaz Qureshi were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, President RCCI Ali Raza Saeed Shah said that Pakistan and Iran are enjoying deep religious and political relations but it is need of the hour to promote the bilateral trade between the two brother countries. He said that government must focus the promotion of regional trade along with the international trade. Governments of the both sides must play their vital role in this regard, he demanded. The President RCCI said that with the efforts of the business communities of two sides the trade volume as compared the previous year between Pakistan and Iran has increased 77 per cent during the current fiscal year. He said that businessmen of Pakistan should take part in the trade fairs of Iran and Iranian community should also prefer to visit Pakistan. He stressed the need of the enhancement of trade activities between the two countries.
