ISLAMABAD (APP) - There is no shortage of sugar in the country and TCP has adequate stocks of the commodity said Minister for Food and Agriculture Nazar M Gondal. Talking to a TV channel, he said there is no shortage of sugar in the country. Nearly two months ago, about 100,000 tons of sugar was provided to the provinces at the rate of Rs. 56/kg. We are ready to supply 50,000 tons of sugar to Punjab after every ten days, he said. He said the federal government was blamed for all acts, which it did not commit. The task of the Government was only to ensure the availability of sugar. To a question he said the federal government had no mechanism to eliminate cartels. It was the provincial govts task to take steps to eliminate cartels, he added.
