OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Capital City Police Officer Ahmad Raza Tahir has directed the police to ensure effective implementation of the Eid security plan. Special camps have already been set up by the police for the peoples help in various markets, it may be noted. The plainclothes and mounted police and lady police are all at the guard at all these places. Snap checking would also be in operation in order to ensure comprehensive security for the Lahorites, the CCPO said and added that additional police force had been deputed in various parks and recreational places. He also directed police officials to discharge their duties in an amicable manner towards the citizens to create good impression on them. According to a police spokesman, the CCPO stated this while addressing a high-level meeting of senior police officers at Capital City Police Headquarters here Saturday. DIG Operations Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, DIG Investigation Ali Amir Malik and other senior police officers were also present on this occasion. CCPO said that the police would leave no stone unturned in protecting the life and property of the citizens, whereas an effective strategy had been evolved to maintain law and order and foil nefarious designs of anti-social elements. In his order, Ahmad Raza Tahir directed Chief Traffic Officer to ensure smooth flow of traffic during Eid holidays so that Lahorites would not have to face any inconvenience and difficulty. Ahmad Raza Tahir said that police have been directed to deal with lawbreakers and miscreants with an iron hand. He said that police officials carrying metal detectors would be deployed at Masajids and Imambargahs on Eid day. CCPO said that special camps are being setup at important markets of the city for the convenience of the public. He said that an additional force in uniform and civvies would be deployed in the provincial metropolis.
