OUR STAFF REPORTER CHINIOT Dacoits went on the rampage, hit the city and its suburbs area for no less than 5 times, looting houses, several families and shops, and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth of million from different parts of the city. The people of the area were raising voice against the increase crimes in the area and said that although the DPO is honest and efficient person, yet the officials below are not showing efficiency. They further said that dacoits could be checked if the officials below were transferred out of the district. In first incident, four dacoits looted a senior member of Chiniot Bar Association Malik Mukhtar Ahmad here the other day. As per detail, two dacoits stormed into the house of Malik Mukhtar Ahmad while the other two pet rolled outside. They took hostage the inmates and looted Rs200,000 and ornaments worth Rs400,000 from them. The City Police have registered a case against the culprits. In another incident, seven dacoits looted Muhamamd Shah, a resident of Bihar Colony. Muhammad Shah was coming to his house at night when seven dacoits intercepted him. They snatched two cellphones and a golden chain worth Rs1,24,000 from him. In third incident, eight dacoits looted a shop situated at Mouza Mangeene here the other day. According to police, dacoits entered the shop of Nawaz, a resident of Mouza Mangeene. They snatched Rs30,000 from the shop. When he offered resistance they opened fire at him. As a result, he got serious injuries. In fourth incidents, four dacoits stopped one Ghulam Mhammad, a resident of Jani Shah when he was on way and looted a cellphone and Rs12,000 from him. Meanwhile, some unknown thieves took away gold ornaments worth Rs70,000 from the house of Fazal Abbas, a resident of Chak No-10/JB.The police have registered separate cases.
