islamabad - With a view to educate and sensitise road users about the importance of road safety, traffic laws and free flow of traffic, National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) conducted special patrolling in all operational zones.
The exercise was carried out upon the directions of Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema the other day. All SSPs, DIGs and patrolling officers participated in the special patrolling which was conducted on motorways and national highways (Peshawar–Karachi) including Quetta, Gawadar, Pasni and Hub. As many as 356 patrolling vehicles participated in the special patrolling. Approximately, 23,000 drivers were sensitised during the campaign on 66 different points on highways, 15,000 road safety pamphlets were distributed and 554 road-users in distress were provided help whereas 1,500 divers of different vehicles were penalised during this activity.
