SHEIKHUPURA/SIALKOT - Four people including three of a family were killed while two others sustained injuries in an exchange of firing between two rival groups in village Buddha in the remits of Sadar Muridke police station on Tuesday.

Umer, Ehsan and Adil had dug some quantity of clay to put it on the graves of their relatives in adjacent graveyard on 10th of Muharram. Meanwhile, the owner of the land along with his two sons and body guard reached the spot and forbade them to dig more clay from his land. At which an altercation was erupted between the groups. Later, they started an indiscriminate fire on each other. Resultantly, owner of the field Rana Saleh Advocate, his sons were killed in the firing on the spot. While Adil, an opponent, was also killed. Two other people Umer and Ehsan of Adil group sustained critical bullet injuries.

The two body guard of both the groups escaped from the site. The Sheikhupura and Ferozewala lawyers in a protest against the killings observed complete strike on Wednesday. They demanded the CM, IG police and other officials to arrest the killers as soon as possible. DPO Afzal Kausar constituted two different raiding teams to arrest the accused.

In Sialkot, the lawyers observed complete strike against the incident. District Bar Association President Shahid Mir said that the lawyers wore the black arms bandages and they boycotted the courts on the call of Lahore High Court Bar Association. The DBA president said that the lawyers unanimously passed several condemnation resolutions to lodge strong protest against the state of emergency declared by Pervaiz Musharraf on Nov 3rd 2007 and brutal killings three lawyers of Ferozwala Bar Association.
