ISLAMABAD- At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for serious steps for repatriation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

In a statement issued today, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Masood Khan urged the international community to help the Afghanistan government in creating a conducive environment for Afghan refugees to return to their homeland.

He pointed out that after more than three decades Pakistan is still caring for over three million Afghan refugees. Masood Khan said Pakistan's resources have been stretched by massive relief efforts following recent floods and temporary relocation of the hundreds of thousands of people because of the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb.
