LAHORE - Punjab government is all set to provide scooties to working women in Lahore within a short period of three months. It is a pilot project in the beginning but scooties will also be provided in other cities of the province after its success. The provision of electrical rechargeable two-wheelers scooties, which are widely used by females in India, Far East countries and especially the Muslim counties like Indonesia and Malaysia, would be the first experience in Pakistan.

The PML-N government had decided to provide scooties to girl students of schools and colleges in 2013, but due to unknown reason, the programme could not be launched. However, this year the government will provide the two-wheeler to female workers through balloting.
