These words speak volumes for themselves, as we see the state of our world today. Madeleine Albright, known to be the first female Secretary of State of the United States of America and a self-proclaimed feminist was a true warrior of heart and mind. She was also Ambassador to the United Nations during the Clinton years and vocally criticised the world for their negligence in Rwanda. Leaders like her should serve as an inspiration for Pakistan’s politicians who seem to be trapped in a bubble denying welfare benefits and women the full right of their mind and bodies. Exceptional women such as Ms Albright fought with an unmatched tenacity against the very patriarchal beliefs we are faced with today. If she can do it, we can do it too.
“No country can build a healthy and growing economy or establish a true democracy if half its people are held
back, pushed aside, left
behind or beaten up.”
–Madeleine Albright
