HUJRA SHAH MUQEEM/TOBA TEK SINGH/HAFIZABAD/KAMALIA-Five persons died in three road accidents occurred due to poor visibility caused by thick smog and fog in different areas here on Sunday.

In Hujra Shah Muqeem, two persons died and another got injuries in an accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by smog.

According to police sources, Muhammad Amin and Tanveer, residents of villege Jaithpur were going to Depalpur on a bike. As they reached near Farid Kot Town, an unidentified vehicle hit the bike due to poor visibility. As a result, Amin died while the other got injured. In the meanwhile, a youngster identified as Baber, resident of adjacent village Doula Mustqeem came for their help but unfortunately another speeding vehicle crushed him in the thick smog. The police shifted the dead bodies and injured to hospital and started investigation.

In Toba Tek Singh, a man died in a smog-triggered road accident on Rajana-Samundri Road at here on Sunday.

Deceased Ihsanul Haq of Chak 255/GB was on the way on a motorcycle when he reached near Chak 256/GB Philour, he failed to judge a bus, a Faisalabad-bound bus, coming from Multan, due to thick smog. As a result, the bus hit his bike and as a result he was critically injured. He was being shifted to DHQ hospital but he succumbed to his wounds on the way.

In Hafizabad, a person died on the spot and five others sustained injuries in road accident Chauntra village on motorway due to poor visibility owning to smog.

According to Recue source, Muhammad Ismail, son of Sher Bahadur along with his driver Abdullah and four others of Swat was on the way to Faisalabad. As the vehicle reached near Chauntra village, a bus coming from behind rammed it. As a result Ismail died while Abdullah and four others got critical injuries. The dead body and the injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital and the police registered a case against the bus driver.

In Kamalia, a motorcyclist was crushed to death on Kamalia-Chichawatni Road near Khan-da-Chak early morning. Asif, resident of Chak 552/GB died on the spot while two others got injuries. The injured were taken to the THQ Hospital Kamalia. The police said the accident occurred due to zero visibility caused by thick smog.
