KASUR-Dacoits who fired indiscriminate shots on the Kasur Press Club (KPC) president during a robbery are still beyond the police noose despite the lapse of eight months.

The police failure has raised serious concerns among notables belonging to all walks of life, especially the mediamen. They flayed the police for being least bothered to arrest the culprits. Talking to The Nation, Kasur Press Club general secretary Tariq Mehmood Jutt questioned police performance. Electronic Media President Aslam Khan said that the police failure to arrest dacoits has created a sense of insecurity among the journalists. Group Leader Takreem Ali termed attack on the KPC president an attack on journalist community. Emra Chairman Mehr Abdul Rehman urged the police to make all-out efforts for arrest of the culprits. Kasur Press Club chairman Ajmal Shad stressed the need for considering mediamen’s concerns.

Mediamen urged DPO Ismail Kharak to take effective steps for arrest of the robbers. They demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif take notice of the police failure.
