US diplomat Alice Wells hold talks with FO officials

US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Alice Wells has arrived in Islamabad on Friday to follow up on Qureshi-Pompeo meetings in Washington.

He added that Ambassador Wells will also call on the Finance Minister Asad Umar and hold a meeting with senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Alice Wells led US delegation to hold talks with Pakistan Foreign Office officials led by Additional Secretary of Americas Aftab Ahmad Khokher. During the talks, bilateral relations, regional security and peace and stability in Afghanistan were discussed.  

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal, the visit is aimed at a follow-on discussion between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo with a view to further strengthen bilateral relations.
