Appointment of Ashfaq Ahmed as RPO Rawalpindi widely hailed

Rawalpindi-The appointment of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ashfaq Ahmed Khan as Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region by the Chief Secretary Punjab was hailed by many circles with great hopes that he will root out crime from the region.
Ashfaq Ahmed Khan has replaced Imran Ahmer, former RPO Rawalpindi Region, who was transferred to Gujranwala as RPO.
Ashfaq Ahmed Khan is serving in BPS-20 grade. Ashfaq is highly regarded as an honest police officer in the country. He joined police force in 2000.  Earlier, he served as Assistant Superintendent of Police in various zones in capital. Later, Ashfaq Ahmed Khan was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) and appointed as SP Investigation in Islamabad Capital Territory Police. The government later appointed him as SP Islamabad Traffic Police and SP Headquarters.  Then Ashfaq was transferred and posted to National Highways and Motorway Police where he served for 8 years as SSP.  He was also appointed as Director Intelligence Bureau by government.
In 2011, his services were rendered at the disposal of Punjab Police where he also served as District Police Officer Bahawalpur. Establishment Division promoted him to rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police thus making him City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad. He served CPO Gujranwala also. Ashfaq Ahmed Khan also served as DIG Operations Lahore twice and then was transferred and posted as RPO Sargodha. Ashfaq’s tenure as DIG Operations Lahore and RPO Sargodha earned him fame and good repute since his policies were admired by the public. Showing his intellect, he managed to control surging crime in his area besides raising the standards of policing.  Ashfaq Ahmed Khan did his intermediate and bachelors from FC College and Government College Lahore. He did M.Phil in Economics (1993-1996) from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad.
