Butt may resign at fag end of his term

LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt is reportedly set to resign from his post citing health reasons once he returns from London. According to reports, he will submit his resignation to Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari in a few days. Pakistan returned from an acrimonious tour of England when three of its players were suspended on spot-fixing allegations. Butt was criticised by many for his handling of the entire scandal that plagued Pakistan cricket. While in England, the PCB Chairman hit out at Englands players alleging that they had fixed the recent third ODI at the Oval. He later withdrew his remarks and apologised for them. Many believe that this might be the reason as to why Butt has been finally forced to resign. According to reports, Ehsan Mani, former ICC Chairman is likely to take his place.
