Govt against political victimisation: Gilani

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that his Government believes in across the board accountability but is against political victimisation in the name of accountability. Talking to a group of Parliamentarians at his Parliaments Chamber, Premier Gilani said that people had reposed their confidence in the parliamentarians by electing them as their representatives, so there should be a unanimously agreed mechanism for the accountability of the parliamentarians. The Prime Minister urged all the parliamentarians to synergise their efforts of relief work in the flood-ravaged areas. He reiterated the commitment of the Government to provide additional resources to the provinces for the upcoming phases of rehabilitation and reconstruction. The parliamentarians apprised the Prime Minister of the prioritisation of the development schemes in their respective constituencies. to enhance the pace of rehabilitation work. Senator Salahuddin Dogar and MNAs including Saoud Majeed, Nadeem Elahi, Muneer Khan Aurakzai, Ch Iftikhar and Afzal Khokhar were present in the meeting.
