Loadshedding gets out of control

It is so sad that despite sky-rocketing electricity rates in our country, the problem of circular debt has become so grave that now a solution seems nowhere near sight. 20-hour long loadshedding is being enforced. The only explanation for this can be that the billions received in electricity revenues get incorporated into the federal budget where they get lost as a result of excessive spending in the current war on terror. The people are driven to protests and cry out against this cruelty but the government in turn uses this opportunity to force them to accept two holidays a week which is a luxury allowed only in developed countries. It is a pity that our bureaucracy and the top leadership loves to enjoy it no matter what the consequences. Here in Muzaffargarh, unfortunately, power remains suspended most of the night leaving people at the mercy of blood-thirsty mosquitoes. In the meantime, it seems that our leaders are drawing a sadistic pleasure out of peoples miseries because not a single power generation scheme based on our indigenous resources of river-water and coal has so far been inaugurated. Instead the rulers have started talking about the unstable and costly resources of solar and wind energy which even the most advanced countries of the world are shy of adopting.
