ISLAMABAD - The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) of the Planning Commission on Friday approved 10 developmental projects of worth Rs 4.61 billion.The meeting of the Central Development Working Party was held here under the chairmanship of Dr Nadeem ul Haq, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission. The meeting considered 24 projects on the agenda having a total cost of Rs 38.7 billion. However, the CDWP approved 10 projects costing about Rs 4.61 billion in the water resources, transport & communication, science & technology, governance and higher education sectors.The CDWP did not approve 3 projects. Two projects were withdrawn and the CDWP deferred 9 projects of Rs. 28.981 billion for further scrutiny. The representatives of the governments of Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, and FATA attended the meeting besides the concerned Federal Ministries/Divisions.
