Chiniot-Faisalabad dual carriageway on the cards

CHINIOT - Commissioner Faisalabad Syed Tahir Hussain has that the government will construct dual carriageway between Chiniot and Faisalabad with a cost of Rs1.1 billion.
He said this while addressing an open court at TMA Hall here the other day.
He said that the Chiniot district had been given special funds over the past three years for mega projects like construction of Ring Road around Chiniot, reconstruction of sewerage system, double roads in the city and extensions in buildings of schools and colleges.
Earlier, a large number of people flocked to the TMA lawn for lodging complaints about shortage of gynaecologists and orthopaedic ward facilities at DHQ Hospital, shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff and improvement of cleanliness system, elimination of drugs. The people sought facilities for agriculture sector and action against illegal multi-storey buildings in populated areas.
The open court was also addressed by RPO Aftab Cheema, DCO Irshad Ahmad, DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar, AC Mehr Shafqat Ullah and journalist Tahir Rasheed Sial.
The Commissioner assured that complaints would be addressed promptly.
Tree plantation kicks off:  DCO Syed Haider Iqbal inaugurated tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling on the premises of DCO office here the other day.
DO Forest Malik Wassem Sajjad, EDO Agriculture Shafique Ahmed and district officers of the different departments were also present on the occasion.
Highlighting the role of forestry sector in the socioeconomic development of the country, he called upon the people from all walks of life to play their role in increasing timberlands.
"Only to plant a sapling is not enough, we should ensure proper look after of trees", he maintained. He said that by boosting forests environment could be made green and pollution free.
