SAHIWAL - Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the PPP's history is full of sacrifices and Yousaf Raza Gilani sacrificed premiership to uphold the party's tradition.

Replying to queries of reporters here at the residence of MNA Mahar Ghulam Farid Kathya, Kaira claimed that uncertainty was being created in the country regarding letter to Swiss authorities although the present Premier with the consultation of his advisers had opted for a middle way to dispelled the impression regarding clash among institutions.

The government is sincerely making efforts to resolve this issue but there are some constitutional lacunas, the minister pointed out. On the occasion, the minister himself did not give any statement about his government, party or the opposition.

Besides MNA Ghulam Farid Kathia, PPP District President Zaki Ch, Tehsil President Ali Nawaz Bhatti, Dr Azhar Kahloon were also present on the occasion.

The Federal Information Minister elaborated that the government did not want any clash with judiciary.

He claimed that every opposition politician was hell bent on criticising President Zardari merely to show himself as a big politician. He asserted that the Pakistan People's Party respected the mandate of all political parties.

To a question about the PTI Waziristan march, he said that the government did not want to prohibit or stop Imran Khan but he himself should keep in mind the critical situation of that area. Kaira pointed out that the Taliban had also denied inviting Imran Khan.

Talking about ex-PM Gilani's statement published in newspapers, the minister claimed that Gilani's did not say anything in this way rather his statement was misquoted and published.

To another question, Kaira said that solutions to all prevailing problems lied in the democracy.

He said that democracy could not be compared with dictatorship.

He also denied his Ministry had any secrete fund. He claimed that every penny was being used under a set formula and that was accountable. He said there was no such practice in the Pakistan People's Party government and might have happened in the past. Kaira claimed that he was responsible for the use of funds being utilised by his Ministry and would quit Ministry if embezzlement of a single penny was detected against him.

The minister said that the PPP respected the advices of allied parties but did not accept any dictation from any party. He said that the entire nation was anxious on the present situation of Balochistan. Criticising Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif, Kaira said that 95% of province was under the control of FC and if FC was called back the police alone could not control the situation. He said that Nawaz Sharif doubts about transparent elections were baseless because the CEC had been appointed on the proposal of the PML-N, adding that care taker government would be established after consultation with opposition parties leaders.
