GUJRANWALA - Gujranwala Electric Power Company Chief Executive Mahboob Alam suspended three executive engineers and three subdivisional officers, besides issuing show-cause notices to 14 SDOs for continuous increase in line losses and decrease in recovery.  XEN Construction Azher Iqbal has been suspended on the charges of corruption while XEN Hafizabad and Noshera Virkan M Safdar and Shabbir Butt along with 3 SDOs have been suspended.
The Gepco official intends to start field work himself to control power theft and for recovery. He has warned the officers to serve for the cause of the company. He also warned that no negligent officers would be tolerated and honest officers would be given incentive on better performance.
TEACHERS PRAISED: Without respecting teachers, no society can develop and cope with the challenges of modern era as it is a lesson which is also taught by Islam, the district coordination officer said.
DCO M Amin Chaudhry was addressing a function held in connection with "Salaam Teacher Day" at Govt Iqbal High School. It was organized by Education Department.  The DCO said, "We should follow Hadith of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and respect teachers as the Prophet (SAW) declared himself a teacher." He urged the society to train the new generation in accordance with Islamic teachings.  EDO Education Shaukat Ali Tahir, DO Secondary Education Ihsanullah, Rana Masood Akhter, Sajjad Masood Chishti also shared their expressions on the occasion.
