1,981 kids enrolled

NAROWAL- The National Rural Development Program (NRDP) organised a ceremony title “Acknowledgment and Appreciation Ceremony” under ILMPOSSIBLE - Take A Child to School (TACS) Project here the other day.
The NRDP is implementing the project which is being funded by British Council in Pakistan to enrol all out of school children, especially in rural areas. Ahsan Iqbal Federal Minister for Planning, Development was the chief guest on the event. British Council Punjab Director Kevin McLaven, DCO Syed Najaf Iqbal, NRDP Executive Director Mirza Moqeem Baig, NRDP member Saeedul Haq Malik, BoD, Khawaja, MPAs - Mohammad Waseem Butt, Rana Manan Khan, and EDO-Education Ghiyaasul Din attended the ceremony.
350 children, ILMBASSADORs, adults, civil society representatives, officials and mediamen also attended the ceremony. According to the British Council Punjab Director Kevin McLaven, under TACS project NRDP enrolled 1,981 out of school children and 1,019 in enrolment process in Narowal district through their ILMBASSODORS/volunteer youth.

The ILMPOSSIBLE-TACs Programme aims at enrolling more than 130,000 out of school children across the country through trained 13,000 active citizens.
He said that NRDP also formed five Mohallah Committees with 80-members having representation of different community stakeholders who would directly support the volunteer’s initiatives, identify and resolve education related issues.
