Islamabad - Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Rawalpindi has sent a summary to the government for approval for launching air-conditioned bus service from Pir Wadhai to Kallar Syedan.

The service will be started as soon as the summary is approved by the government. This route will commence from Pir Wadhai General Bus Stand which will terminate at Kallar Syedan via Faizabad, Islamabad Expressway and Rawat. As many as 42 air conditioned buses will be run on this route and an affordable fare will be fixed so that every commuter could pay it easily. Meanwhile, matters have been settled between CDA, Regional Transport Authority and Metro bus to run shuttle service from different areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to specific metro bus stations to facilitate the citizens. Commissioner Rawalpindi division Zahid Saeed said new buses will be run on the pattern of coasters in connection with shuttle service. The facility of this service will be provided to the citizens from specific areas to specific stations of metro bus. These areas will include railway station, Swan Bus Terminal and Airport Road. The number of buses to be run for this service will be limited so that no traffic problem could be created on Murree Road.
