LAHORE - A constable was crushed to death by a car in Shafiqabad, police said yesterday.

Forty-year-old Amjad, riding on a motorcycle, was going to submit daily reports to the office of Lahore DIG (Operations) when a speedy car bumped into his two-wheeler on the Bund Road.

Presently posted at Nawab Town police station Amjad sustained multiple injuries and expired on the spot, rescue workers said.

Investigators said the driver along with the car fled the crime scene. The police have registered a case against unidentified car driver and are investigating.

EXPIRED: A 40-year-old woman died shortly after she suffered cardiac arrest in Liaqatabad police precincts.

The woman, unidentified so far, was walking towards a shopping a mall when she fell on the road, all of sudden. She was rushed to a hospital where she expired later. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy.
