Pakistan women eye ODI series win

KARACHI - Pakistan women cricket team will be hoping to make a clean-sweep in the One-day Internationals (ODI) series against touring Bangladesh when they clash in the second and final ODI here at the Southend Club Ground today (Tuesday).
Thanks to a brilliant show by southpaw batter Bismah Maroof, home team won the Twenty20 International series 2-0 and took 1-0 lead in the ODI series by beating Bangladesh by 20 runs in the opening game.
All the eyes once again would be focused on Bismah after her consistent run with the willow. Experienced Bismah, playing her 73rd ODI, missed her maiden ton getting out when eight runs short of coveted mark.
Pakistan captain Sana Mir would be looking forward to come-up with good performance after struggling in the series.
Bangladesh skipper Salman Khatun would be eagerly looking to her batter to come up with winning performance to end the tour on happy note. Bangladesh women team is the first international side to visit Pakistan since 2006.
In the meantime, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is holding a dinner reception in honor of the two teams at same venue on Tuesday. All former Pakistan cricket captains, Sindh Governor, Commissioner Karachi, top officials of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Rangers, dignitaries and Consul General Bangladesh in Karachi have been invited for the ceremony.
