Islamabad - Islamabad police have arrested 19 outlaws, including 13 professional beggars, and recovered 120 bottles of wine, narcotics and stolen valuables from their possession, a police spokesman said yesterday.

According to details, a special team constituted by SP (Saddar) Rizwan Umer Gondal was conducting checking at Islamabad Chowk. It signalled to stop a vehicle (LOK-9499) near sector G-13 but its driver tried to speed away. Police team managed to stop the vehicle after a brief chase and nabbed the car occupant Mujeeb and also recovered 120 bottles of wine from him.

Meanwhile, Loi Bher police arrested Hussain, Sohail and Rafaqat for their alleged involvement in car theft cases. Shehzad Town police apprehended Murad Ali for having 115 grams hashish while Sihala police nabbed Sadiq for decanting gas in cylinders illegally.

Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
