The police Monday thwarted a bid to smuggle 5-kg heroin and arrested two drug traffickers including a woman.
The drug was being trafficked to Lahore from Peshawar.
On a tip-off, the police intercepted a Suzuki Mehran car, bearing registration number LE-9114, near Salam bus stand. They held the two drug peddlers identified as Khan Sher and Neelam Bibi, residents of Peshawar.
The police recovered 5.2 kilogram heroin from their possession. A case has been registered against the accused at the Phularwan police station.
