HAFIZABAD-Top police and administration officers asked their subordinate perform their duties honestly, saying that earning a living through fair means is great worship.

Addressing the officers of the district, he said, “We should work as a team to improve the governance.” He stressed upon the officers to visit the hospitals, educational institutions and development projects instead of sitting in the offices to resolve the problems.

“Being public servants, we are accountable to the people and we should ensure utilisation of funds transparently. He also directed the Tehsil Municipal Officers Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian to ensure improvement in the sanitary conditions and to beautify the cities.

He also directed the DO Buildings to ensure completion of ongoing projects in the THQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian and take stern action against the contractors who are indulging in delaying tactics.

Addressing policemen, the DPO Haroon Joya said that police had taken various steps to bring about positive changes in the functioning of police stations. He called upon the cops to strive hard to minimise crimes, and stressed the need for the cooperation of the general public with the police.

After assuming the charge, new DCO Ali Randhawa called upon the officers of the district to perform their duties honestly and sincerely to the best of their abilities to provide relief for the public.

Meanwhile, the police have prepared a plan to maintain traditional peace during Ashura-e-Muharram. There would be 140 mourning processions and 603 Majalis in the district. Adequate COPS including Civil Defence personnel, national volunteers, Rescue 1122 have been deputed to meet any eventuality. Moreover, CCTV camera has been installed in the Fawara Chowk roundabout. The district administration has banned the entry of 12 religious scholars of different sects and gagged six others for preventing hate speeches.
